Below is a list of all of the YCPASR Committees. Being part of a committee helps you meet new people and allows you to have an impact.
Auditing Committee
The Auditing Committee shall independently review and audit the reports of the treasurer each year and submit a report of the committee’s findings to the Executive Committee and to the members in attendance at the fall general membership meeting.

By-Laws Committee
The By-Laws Committee shall study and recommend revisions of the Chapter By-Laws to the Executive Committee.

Community Service Committee
Identifies and promotes activities of volunteer services by the Chapter and its individual members for the benefit of the local communities.

Educational Support Committee
Monitors, encourages contributions, and provides for the annual distribution of the Scholarship Fund. An Educational Support Grant is given annually to support public education in a county school district. Selects a teacher and a support staff member to receive the Lauretta Woodson Award from a county school district.

Information Technology Committee
The Information Technology (IT) Committee shall communicate the activities of the Chapter to its members and the general public by establishing contact with and providing information to the local news media, using other forms of written communication, and submitting articles for publication in the PASR Newsletter. Also s/he shall keep a digital presence for the chapter and suggest new technology that would keep communication current and efficient.

Legislative/Political Education Committee (L-PEC)
Informs the members of state and national legislative issues and organizes members of the Chapter in support of PASR’s legislative programs. For L-PEC, click here.

Member Benefits & Services (MB & S) Committee
Gathers and disseminates to the members information they need for their well-being. Promotes state and local endorsed MB & S programs. For more, click here.

Membership Committee
Identifies and encourages retired school employees, their spouses, and other interested individuals to enroll as active or associate members of both the Chapter and the PASR.

Nominating Committee
Solicits recommendations of individuals to serve as officers, reviews the candidates recommended, and presents a slate of nominees to the members for election at the fall meeting.

Solicits, evaluates and recommends individuals and/or groups to present programs of entertainment and information to the membership at the Chapter’s general meetings. Makes arrangements for Chapter meetings, including reservations and hospitality.

Retirement Planning Committee
Plans and conducts programs on various aspects of retirement planning. Such programs shall be open to all school employees and their spouses, with special effort to enlist those persons who may be planning retirement within the next several years.

Social Service Memorial Honor Fund (SSMHF) Committee
Encourages contributions to the PASR Memorial Honor Fund in memory of or in honor of members of the Chapter. Establishes programs providing assistance, visitations, and/or gifts to members who are confined to their homes, hospitals or nursing homes.
