What is YCPASR?
Who We Are
We are retired Public School Employees, former employees, active employees over age 50, or anyone (spouse, significant other, friend, neighbor) interested in the work of our organization
What we Do
Our Mission Statement says it all: To serve others in the community and help each other enjoy retirement. We meet for fellowship, to learn from informational speakers, enjoy each other’s company, and do a bit of traveling for those who are interested
When we meet
4 times a year, for lunch usually in March, May, August, and November
Where we meet
Wyndham Garden York, 2000 Loucks Road, York, PA
Why we belong
We stay active in our community and well informed about how actions by our State Legislature may impact our economic well-being
How we make a difference in our community
To serve our Mission Statement, we help to support future generations through scholarships, and we support a number of social service projects and programs to help strengthen our local community
Who can join YCPASR
Retired Public School Employees
Our group includes any staff member from teachers to secretaries to nurses to cafeteria workers, maintenance, teacher aides, administrators, those in nursing, specialists, and anyone else who was employed or at one time worked for a public school. Our organization is a wonderful way to stay active, reach out to help in our many volunteer projects, and to learn something about our community that you may not have known! Welcome to the wonderful world of retirement!
Former Public School Employees
Former Public School Employees who resigned before the age of retirement. Some left teaching to move, others left to go to another career, some resigned to work from home, raise a family, serve in a volunteer capacity, or to pursue any other walk of life not mentioned earlier. We welcome you to our organization.
Currently active Public School Employees
Currently active Public School Employees who are over the age of 50! Come to join us to attend the luncheon meetings when you are able, get to know our members so that you have a ready-made group of friends from all over the county when you do retire, and enjoy our speakers and programs! Organizations grow and become enriched with new members and we would be honored to have you and learn from what your bring to us! Welcome to our group!
Anyone who is interested in the work of our organization
We have a special place in our organization for those folks who would like to join our group, but have not been an employee of the Public School System. We call these members, Associate Members.
