“OOPS! I MISSED THE BUS” PICNIC
The 1st annual YCPASR Membership Picnic was held on Tuesday, September 3, from 11:00 am– 1:00pm at Christ Church on Main Street in Jacobus. A truant officer would have caught 30 missing school that day, all celebrating in one place. Here are some incriminating photos of the fun and games:

Information about PSERS
Due to recent news about issues involving the Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS), the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) Board of Directors provided a statement regarding PSERS pensions in retirement on May 26, 2021. Since PASR represents only retirees and not active members, an issue involving alleged malfeasance at PSERS significantly impacts our members and their livelihoods. PASR’s full statement is posted below. Please note that PASR and PSERS are separate operations without any direct connection, therefore the investigation does not directly involve PASR.
The PSERS investigation will take time to run its course, and we must respect that process. It is important to note that the average federal grand jury investigation usually takes anywhere from 12 to 18 months to complete. PASR will closely follow this issue and they are committed to providing factual updates as the investigation progresses.

PASR Statement on Racial Justice
July 29, 2020
In these days of continued social change, The Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR), denounces racism in all its forms. We wish to acknowledge the pain and anger being expressed by People of Color in protests around the country from years of unequal treatment. We also denounce inequality in any form as well as violence against any minority group in the United States. We support and practice empathy and understanding of different points of view. PASR also recognizes that the diversity of our members and the citizens of this country is one of our greatest strengths.
