What is L-PEC?
L-PEC and me? Yes, You!
The purpose of the Legislative/Political Education Committee (L-PEC) is to solicit voluntary contributions from members and use those funds to support PASR’s legislative objectives and programs. This is done by providing membership with information about political candidates and their positions of interest to us. It is designed to get PASR members to be actively involved in supporting the candidates OF THEIR CHOICE. Although the committee may be comprised of members from all political perspectives, it is designed to involve PASR membership in the electoral process that best supports those programs that benefit educational employees on all levels.
How is this done? First L-PEC consults with the Legislative Committee to plan and conduct training for regional and chapter volunteers. Next, through communications with candidates their positions shall be presented to membership for their consideration. This is done WITHOUT ENDORSEMENT of any candidate. L-PEC is an “equal opportunity program” allowing equal time or space for all candidates to present their position(s). Any responses from candidates may not be edited or commented upon if published or distributed.
So, where do YOU come in? In order to do the things listed above and probably some things missed, your dollars are needed to assure that we will be represented on the state and national level. How much should you give? Whatever you can afford would be helpful. A donation of $5 per member would be great. A larger contribution, say a dime a day, or a $36.50 annual contribution would allow for increased activity usual during a presidential election year. Please complete the form below and mail with your contribution to the address indicated on the form.
