Who Can Join?
Who we are:
- Retired Public School Employees. Our group includes any staff member from teachers to secretaries to nurses to cafeteria workers, maintenance, teacher aides, administrators, those in nursing, specialists, and anyone else who was employed or at one time worked for a public school. Our organization is a wonderful way to stay active, reach out to help in our many volunteer projects, and to learn something about our community that you may not have known! Welcome to the wonderful world of retirement!
- Former Public School Employees who resigned before the age of retirement. Some left teaching to move, others left to go to another career, some resigned to work from home, raise a family, serve in a volunteer capacity, or to pursue any other walk of life not mentioned earlier. We welcome you to our organization.
- Currently active Public School Employees who are over the age of 50! Come to join us to attend the luncheon meetings when you are able, get to know our members so that you have a ready-made group of friends from all over the county when you do retire, and enjoy our speakers and programs! Organizations grow and become enriched with new members and we would be honored to have you and learn from what your bring to us! Welcome to our group!
- Anyone who is interested in the work of our organization: We have a special place in our organization for those folks who would like to join our group, but have not been an employee of the Public School System. We call these members, Associate Members. They may be a spouse or significant other, family member, or friend of a regular member. They may be a person who has read about our group or has heard about some of the programs or activities we share and want to join our group. We have a place for you!! The dues are the same amount as they are for regular members. Associate members do not have voting privileges and may not hold an office, but associate members may participate in functions and trips organized by the Local Chapter.
